A2 Girls Coaches


Shaun Servick

Club Director & Owner

Coach Servick started Advancement Academy in 2012 with the goal of providing a family-oriented, player-first environment for all levels of players looking to improve and enjoy the sport of volleyball. He believes in developing young athletes to enjoy the game of volleyball while learning life lessons. 

Coach Servick graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in history. His playing experience began with one year at Thomas Moore College. He finished his college playing career as a member of the Ohio State men's club team. During this time he helped coach at his alma mater [Worthington Kilbourne] for five years and then became a coach for the Ohio State men's club team for six years.

Coach Servick began his high school coaching career at Bexley High School in 2006 where he led the program to 25 victories and a Division II regional runner-up finish. Coach Servick also won the Division II District Coach of the Year award while at Bexley. Once a teaching position became available, he decided to continue his high school coaching career at Westerville Central for five seasons.

As Coach Servick continued to coach high school volleyball, he worked for clubs in the area until he decided to open A2. He continues to coach at the club level and has ventured into also owning a sand facility and bar next door called Oasis Beach.

Austin Hayes

14 Emerald Head Coach

This is Austin’s 2nd year of coaching and is the Head Coach for 14 Emerald for girls and the Assistant for 16 Red for the boys here at Advancement Academy! Austin is always looking to grow your passion and skill for volleyball.

Fun Fact: Austin's birthday is on Valentine's Day

Kyla Burnett

15 Green Head Coach

Kyla has been coaching for A2 for 2 years now. Kyla has been coaching volleyball for 6 years, coaching high school boys volleyball, high school girls volleyball as well as club volleyball. Kyla has been playing volleyball since she was 9 years old. Kyla played 4 year varsity at her high school and won 1st team all city as well as 2nd team all city. Kyla played volleyball in college as a libero for D2 Central State University. Kyla still plays in adult leagues currently. Kyla coaches because she loves to make an impact on the next generation of volleyball players. Kyla’s favorite part of volleyball is traveling to tournaments during club season.

Fun Fact:  Kyla loves to bowl and her high score is 220.

Brennan Walentschak

12 Green Head Coach

Brennan joined Advancement Academy as a coach this year with a commitment in helping young minds to not only gain a love of the sport, but also help the players grow and develop as people outside the court by creating an positive and welcoming playing environment!

Brennan has played volleyball for over 10 years. He played 4 years at Olentangy Liberty High School and played club volleyball for 3 years. Brennan was a player himself at Advancement Academy for 2 years. Brennan went on to play volleyball at Hiram College as a setter. He has played setter and right side hitter, but has experience playing in every position at a high level.

Deyante Johnson

16 Green Head Coach

Deyante Johnson is from Columbus, OH where he attended Westerville North High School and was a 3 year varsity volleyball player. As a player at Westerville North, his team was awarded OCC and district champs. He was awarded 1st team all-conference his senior year. Coach D played 2 years of club volleyball at A2 where he was a 2 year starter on the 18-1s team. After graduating high school he attended Bowling Green State University and played club volleyball there. He ended up becoming the Treasurer in his second year of college and then Vice President of the team in his last two years of college. Coach D was also a practice player for the Women's Varsity Volleyball Team at BGSU. Coach D graduated from college in 2022 with an Accounting Degree and decided to come back to the club he played for and coach. He is now in his second year of coaching for A2 and he couldn't be any happier.

Pierce Monnin

13 Green Head Coach & Tier Trainer

Pierce Monnin is a native of Westerville Ohio where he attended Westerville North High School and was a 4 year varsity captain and starter. As a player at Westerville North, his team was awarded OCC and district champs. He was a multiple-time 1st team all-conference and academic team selection. Coach Pierce played 3 years of club volleyball at A2 where he was a 3 year starter and team captain on the 18-1s team.

After graduation, he began coaching at Westerville North and A2 and is in his 6th year. As a coach at Westerville North, his team has been a 2-time district champ. As a coach at A2, he has had multiple teams earn 14 Open Bids and is an active lesson and clinic coach. Additionally, Pierce has coached 1 year of varsity girls volleyball at Westerville North and 3 years of middle school girls at St. Paul catholic school, where his volleyball career began.

Bailey Lotozo

15 Shamrock Head Coach

This year is Bailey’s first year coaching at A2, but has club coaching experience from Shawnee Juniors out of Ashland, KY and spent a season as a Student Assistant Coach with her alma matter, West Virginia University Institute of Technology. Bailey has played volleyball since she was 11, earning Muskingum Valley League Player of the Year and All-Ohio during her senior season at Sheridan High School, where she holds multiple school records and is in Sheridan’s Athletic Hall of Fame. During her collegiate career, Bailey won a National Championship during her freshman season at Kentucky Christian University and earned All-American honors three times. Bailey enjoys coaching volleyball as much as she loves playing because she enjoys watching player’s skills improve and helping them become the best they can be. She also strives to be the supportive coach and role model that was important to her early in her career.

Fun fact: Bailey loves gardening and thrifting.

Coach Lotozo

Maggie Samijlenko

17 Green Assistant Coach

Coach Maggie joined A2 this year to be back around the sport of volleyball and help girls grow their love for the game. Maggie played for Coach Shaun as a setter beginning in 2014 until she graduated high school from Olentangy in 2019. She loved her time as a player at A2 and it was the best possible club experience she could have asked for. Coach Maggie was able to be a part of the first team ever to qualify for nationals at A2 and then went on to qualify 2 more times in her career. After high school Coach Maggie went on to play D2 volleyball for 3 years at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She loved her time there and found a passion for taking care of mental health in athletics. Coach Maggie graduated with her bachelors in Biology in May of 2023 and now is working as a veterinary technician. Coach Maggie was looking for an opportunity to begin her coaching career, and coming back to A2 in that role was the perfect choice.
Coach Maggie is looking to specialize in setting, serving, and overall game IQ. Her goal is to help players grow in their game and prepare to play high-level volleyball.

Fun Fact: Maggie has 2 rescue pit bulls named Louie and Vivian!

Coach Samijlenko

Reed Cusack

This is Reed’s 1st season coaching at A2. Reed played varsity boys volleyball at Carroll High School (Dayton) where he earned 2nd-Team All-Conference his senior season. Reed decided to start coaching because his little sister plays club volleyball and he enjoys giving her advice and watching her play. Reed’s favorite part of volleyball is the relief after winning a long rally.

Fun fact: Reed also enjoys playing and watching chess.
